Healthcare Redefined: Synergies of Disruptive Biotech and Smart Nutrition

1st Aisyiyah International Conference Healthcare Innovation, biotechnology and Food Science (A-HBF)

Scope of Conference

In recent decades, the world has faced complex challenges especially related to human health, food security, and environmental sustainability. The world must survive a Pandemic & Zoonotic where COVID-19 proves the vulnerability of the global health-food system. In addition, the high burden of chronic diseases is also one of the concerns. Currently, 74% of global deaths are due to non-communicable diseases (diabetes, cancer, heart disease), which are all linked to diet. In addition to facing the challenge of high chronic disease burdens, the problem of Environmental Degradation, especially in the agricultural sector, accounts for 30% of greenhouse gas emissions which then cause malnutrition and disease outbreaks. This is exacerbated by the Technology Gap where developing countries, including Indonesia, are lagging behind in access to food-health biotechnology, which ultimately widens the inequality of health problems in general.

Biotechnology today is a strategic imperative for: Creating Functional Foods: Engineered probiotics, CRISPR biofortification, and plant-based therapeutics that target specific diseases. Accelerating Medical Therapy: Development of edible vaccines, biosensors for early detection of food-pathogenic contaminants, and food-based drug delivery systems and Building System Resilience: Production of alternative proteins (cultured meat, microalgae) to overcome hunger and malnutrition. The conference is designed as a catalyst for transdisciplinary collaboration that specifically synergizes food science, biotechnology and health
“Aisyiyah Bio Food Health 2025 was born out of the urgent need for a platform that not only discusses cutting-edge science, but also designs real actions at the intersection of biotechnology, food, and health. This conference is not just an academic gathering, but a commitment to shaping a future where food is the first medicine, biotechnology is the guardian of sustainability, and inclusive health is an achievable reality.”
